Biography:

    Chen Xia is an associate professor in the Department of Political Science at the Ocean University of China. Associate professor Chen obtained his political science doctorate at Jilin University in 2016. Her research interests include State Theory, Western Political Thoughts, and Grassroots Governance in China.

She has published more than 20 articles about state autonomy, state-society relations, and the culture of harmony. The title of her Ph.D. dissertation is State Autonomy in China's Economic Development—Based on the Comparative Perspective before and after the Reform and Opening Up. With state autonomy as the fundamental analysis concept, this paper analyzes the problem of state-building in the reform process and opens up the research perspective of state autonomy theory. The article explores the evolution of state autonomy before and after the reform and opens up with a comparative perspective. Then the paper discusses the intrinsic relationship between state autonomy and economic development and the dilemmas of state autonomy in the new period. At last, the article put forward the primary goals and reshaped the path of China's state autonomy in the future. She is now researching The Origin of the Community of Shared Future for Mankind.
